When giving people instructions or directions, always try to add the ‘why’. It’s funny how sometimes people are offended when others ask for a reason for what they do or are being told to do, knowing the ‘why’ is necessary.
Understanding is the why of any knowledge. It facilitates the application of wisdom. Children will often ask why, don’t ignore or shut them off, it’s a natural sequence following knowledge. The same goes for other relationships, let the other party know the reason behind what you expect of them.
You can’t really have great performance without conviction, without a good grasp of what you are doing. So, a lot of folks have knowledge but they can’t apply it because they don’t have understanding. And that can be really frustrating.This is why the word says get wisdom, it’s the principal thing, however get understanding because without it, you can’t apply knowledge to achieve desired outcomes.
Wisdom is not some high sounding philosophy; it is simply what works!
