It is a honorable thing to receive accolades and recognition from men. However, it is important to know that what matters to God is not how people honor us but how our works honor Him.
When your good works are done in secret or are not publicly rewarded, it does not mean they are less meaningful. What counts is that what you do or did blessed someone.
Don’t also fall into the trap of what will people say after you live this world, focus more on what God will say about you because only He knows your real contributions in this life. The widows mite was more appreciated than the convenient largesse.
Remember, your light is to shine to bring praises to God and not to yourself. If no one recognizes your efforts, as long as it is something beneficial to others before God, your light is shining and He will be glorified.
